Why the coMra laser?

Why the coMra laser turns up throughout this site. Bernard traces it back to an acupuncture course in the 1980s, where a homeopath sitting next to him said the points could be stimulated with light instead of needles.

I mention the coMra laser throughout this website for many reasons. I often feel as if I am the Grandfather of the coMra.

In the very early days of my practice going back to the 80s, I attended my first acupuncture course. There was a homeopath sitting next to me who said I did not need to use needles to stimulate the acupuncture points, but rather I could use a laser. That was amazing information, and within a month of that course I had obtained a neon helium laser from France, and even before I really dived into the use of needles I was using the laser to do acupuncture. This one-pointed, very low-powered light seemed to be able to stimulate acupuncture points, and because it was very low-powered and caused no sensation, it could also be used on babies and animals.

What I discovered accidentally was that the laser seemed to have effects apart from its acupuncture stimulating effect; that it seemed to induce a healing response outside the acupuncture technique effects.

This effect, of stimulating healing throughout the body and in different conditions, was so astonishingly simple and profound that patients asked to buy the laser. I discovered that the Russians had already done very extensive research on it, and had found that by combining the laser light with a magnetic field and colour, that the laser effect was enhanced. I began to import this combination laser from Russia.

These Russian low-energy lasers were unique and unlike the same lasers developed in the West, which were primarily using only the laser technology without the magnetic field and colour. When I visited a Russian state hospital I discovered that most of the departments in the hospital had a laser to use. The Russian research was intensive, and financed by the Russian state itself, unlike most of the work performed in the West done by individual companies.

This Russian laser came into the hands of a group of South Africans who were guided to develop and improve the technology according to the healing properties of coherence, and thus was born the coMra.
